Josh was born in Toronto Canada in 1970, the youngest of four children. Gifted in art from an early age, he was encouraged by his parents to pursue the creative arts. He attended summer art schools at the Art Gallery of Ontario and in Siena Italy. He spent a year at Mount Allison University’s Fine Art Program where he was awarded the Dean’s List and Dean’s scholarship. Unsatisfied with art school, he transferred to McGill University where he graduated with a degree in Psychology. Afterwards, he lived in Japan teaching English and worked on a video game while continuing to create artwork. Upon returning to Toronto, Josh dedicated the next year towards painting which resulted in his first solo show. He began exhibiting in local establishments but struggled with living as a traditional artist. He made the decision to pursue another of one of his passions; video games. He went on to build and run several game studios. Over several decades he has created hundreds of drawing and paintings, his style and subject matter evolving as he matured. In early 2017 a life changing event gave him the courage to pursue his lifelong dream of being an artist again.
