Josh was born in Toronto, Canada in 1970. Naturally gifted in art from childhood, he won prizes such as the Bonnycastle Art Award and the attention of Patron of the Arts Alan Detweiler. During his teens, he attended summer art schools at the Art Gallery of Ontario and in Siena, Italy and spent a year at Mount Allison University’s Fine Art Program. Despite being  awarded the Dean’s List and Dean’s scholarship, he was unsatisfied with art school and transferred to McGill University where he graduated with a degree in Psychology. Afterwards, he lived in Japan where he experimented with traditional Japanese mediums and newly emerging digital art technologies. Upon returning to Toronto, he dedicated the next year towards his first solo show. He began exhibiting in local establishments but struggled with living as an artist. He made the decision to pursue another of one of his passions; video games. He went on to build and run several game studios and oversee many digital based projects. Over four decades Josh created hundreds of drawings and paintings, his style and subject matter evolving as he matured. In 2016, he began again to pursue his lifelong dream of being a full time artist. Josh is a member of the Artists Network, the Don Valley Art Club and the Art Guild of Scarborough.
